Each January, Catholics from across the Diocese of Portland join hundreds of thousands of people in Washington, D.C., for the annual March for Life. The pilgrimage brings together young people, families, parishioners, and advocates to pray, learn, witness, and stand in peaceful solidarity for the dignity of every human life.
We support the March for Life because we believe that every person is created in the image and likeness of God and possesses inherent worth from conception through natural death. The trip offers participants an opportunity to deepen their faith, encounter the wider Church, and give public witness to a culture that welcomes, protects, and accompanies both mothers and their children.
Through prayer, education, service, and respectful advocacy, the Diocese of Portland seeks to affirm the sacredness of human life and to support compassionate care for women, children, and families facing difficult circumstances.
