Transitus Service - Houlton

A Transitus service, commemorating St. Francis's passing over from earthly to eternal life, will be held at St. Mary of the Visitation Church in Houlton on October 3 at 7 p.m., concluding with a special blessing upon all communities of the local towns in Aroostook county. St. Francis of Assisi died 800 years ago, on October 3, 1226, and we are in the midst of a jubilee year celebrating the saint. St. Mary of the Visitation has been established as one of the year's pilgrimage sites.
